Summary:
Provide solutions to members' financial needs by suggesting credit union products and services utilizing Island Federal Credit Union's preferred way of selling, handling problems and inquiries, and performing transactions with accuracy and little supervision in a positive and professional manner.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of all credit union services and be available to assist as needed in other areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1.
Evaluate new and existing member's accounts, services, and credit report.
Identify and cross sell credit union services, deposit and loans products, which provide solutions to the members' needs and improve their financial well-being utilizing Island's preferred way of selling.
2.
Obtain required documentation to process member loans and input loan applications in XP2.
3.
Obtain required documentation to process and open new membership accounts and/or services.
4.
Process requests for stop payments, share draft copies, wire transfers, certificate changes, statement copies, credit card applications, check orders, resolve member bill pay issues, address changes, loan questions, etc.
5.
Respond to member's requests via phone or mail regarding credit union products, services, and fees.
6.
Interact with members to resolve inquiries, problems, and complaints.
7.
Perform non-monetary transactions such as deposits, loan payments, transfers, and check withdrawals for members via phone or in person.
8.
Keep up to date on all new and existing electronic services offered by the credit union.
Explain and educate the electronic services to members.
9.
Adhere to all security procedures as well as all credit union policies and procedures.
10.
Complete and pass all required BSA Training.
11.
Cover reception desk in absence of the receptionist.
12.
Maintain inventory and required audits for safety deposit boxes.
13.
Perform Notary Public duties.
14.
Obtain required documentation and perform Signature Guarantees following all proper policies and procedures.
15.
Accommodate flexible work schedule to meet branch needs, including evenings and weekends.
16.
Assist at Teller platform during peak periods.
17.
Reporting to various in-county (Nassau or Suffolk) locations required and as directed by Management.
18.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1.
Complete and thorough knowledge of all services and products of the credit union.
2.
Knowledge of all rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures associated with position.
3.
Knowledge of and ability to perform all the duties of Teller.
4.
Possess general knowledge of BSA rules and regulations.
Complete BSA Training.
5.
Complete Signature Guarantee training.
6.
Notary Public license.
7.
Registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System(NMLS).
8.
Strong attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
9.
Ability to learn new products and services.
10.
Ability to communicate with members, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
11.
Ability to cross-sell credit union products and services.
12.
Ability to write, type and operate standard office equipment and tools, such as personal computer, postage machine, fax machine, telephones, photocopier, typewriter.
13.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
14.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Ability to see well enough to read reports and use computer.

Lifting/Pulling/Carrying may incur up to 30-50 pounds onan occasional basis.
20.
Driving may be required for occasional travel between Island Federal's branches.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE1.
High school graduate or equivalent.
2.
Prior sales experience.
3.
Teller experience required.
4.
Must possess good communication and organizational skills.
REQUIREMENTS1.
Complete registration with NMLS within 30 days2.
Complete Signature guarantee training within 30 days3.
Obtain Notary Public within 90 days.
4.
Obtain Lending Authority within 180 days.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
